Aug 13, 2024Celebrate Black Business Month: Honoring 20 Years of Innovation and Success!
August marks the 20th anniversary of Black Business Month, a special time to spotlight the incredible contributions of Black entrepreneurs across the U.S. This month is all about celebrating the achievements of Black business owners who now run 3.5 million businesses and employ over 1.2 million people, with a remarkable annual growth rate of over 7% (SBA Office of Advocacy) These impressive stats reflect a growing economic influence and highlight the power of Black-owned businesses in driving social impact.
Founded by Frederick E. Jordan and John William Templeton, Black Business Month was created to champion policies that support African-American businesses, especially in securing financial backing. Jordan’s vision was to build community and representation, creating lasting change for Black entrepreneurs facing financial challenges.
