Where Do We Start?
Aug 01, 2024In today's world, we have information at our fingertips. If you type a question into your browser about how to bake bread, you'll receive countless iterations of recipes with a diverse array of ingredients. Now, add toppings, stuffing's, or dips to accompany your bread, and further and further down the rabbit hole you go. It often becomes information overload, to the point where you may put a pause on baking the bread and never actually take action on what you had in mind.
The importance of mentorship is often underrated in today’s world. We have access to an abundance of information but often lack direction or a plan to accompany it. This can lead to frustration and a sense of inadequacy as we struggle to discern what is and isn’t relevant. Humans are meant for community, and learning is a vital part of that equation.
Having encouragement and a focus on positive strengths is such an impactful element of learning. We are often our harshest critics and need to surround ourselves with a community that will elevate us. This can include family and friends with similar ideals and vision, but having a consultant, mentor, or coach to provide motivation can be truly inspiring and effective.
If you are considering starting your own business but feel overwhelmed and directionless, it may be time to seek a mentor to help connect the dots. A mentor can offer effective self-reflection and guide you through your journey. Don’t give up today; instead, pivot and try to utilize the resources and community around you.
Call the Women's Business Center today and find your mentor to help you build that community around you. (888-926-6670)
